Villa du canal

The owners wanted it to be MINERGIE-certified, bright, open to the surrounding natural landscape and suitable for people with reduced mobility. A second challenge was to develop an architectural project in an area that, due to its proximity to the canal and trees, could not be built on.

Completed in 2017, the villa fully complies with the wishes of its owners. With a surface area of 120 m², it is built on one level with direct access to the garden, and features all the home automation equipment required by people with reduced mobility.

The minerality of the building is softened by the plant environment, with a flower meadow of native seeds, a green roof and the preservation of the surrounding magnolia trees.

The living room, study and bedroom spaces are organized around a central core of bathroom, kitchen and staircase. Cross-views open up the interior spaces to the gardens, enhancing perspectives and letting in more light.
