Smart switches at last!
The role of EnOcean switches is to increase the flexibility of home automation control in terms of heating and lighting, whether natural or artificial. These new-generation controls are energy-independent, wireless and battery-free. They can be moved at will, and have the immense advantage of being installed anywhere in the building, with no electrical installation constraints, to control roller shutters, lighting or temperature control systems.
An innovative operating principle.
EnOcean home automation switches are 100% autonomous. In fact, it is the mechanical energy produced by the user when he or she actuates the control, after conversion into electricity via a tiny induction coil, that is used to emit a signal in the form of a radio wave. This is then collected by a black box, a PLC connected to the electrical panel, which is the "brain" of the building's EnOcean network. After transcription of the signal received, it is transmitted to the objects to be controlled, for example, to modify the inclination of the slats on a blind, or to activate certain lighting scenarios or a radiator.
Practically.
Compliant with European safety standards, EnOcean switches have an indoor range of 30 meters. For even greater comfort, they offer a perfect tactile sensation, identical to that felt when using conventional switches. Different types are available, depending on the number of buttons (2 or 4), their marking, or the number of associated communication channels. They're easy to install, using screws or adhesive tape to secure them in place - a system that significantly reduces the amount of work otherwise required to install a conventional switch.
A guarantee of flexibility for builders and users alike.
Professionals know: when a building is being constructed, the location of switches is an essential point, often discussed at length with future users. In a bedroom, for example, the size of the bed, its shape and its location are among the factors that guide the choice of the most ergonomic positioning of the switches governing the various lights. Thanks to its operating principle, the EnOcean home automation system does away with all these constraints. What's more, beyond the construction stage, it enables users to plan future reorganization of furniture and room layouts without worrying about the location and accessibility of switches. Thanks to EnOcean, the interior organization of buildings is no longer dependent on their electrical design. The use of these innovative home automation switches makes them flexible and adaptable to the needs of the user.
